wanderlust wednesday: lewes beach, de {vaca recap!}

As I mentioned Friday, my friend Heather and I spent a relaxing vacation last weekend in Lewes Beach, Delaware. I didn't have many expectations for Lewes {neither of us had been before or heard much about it}, but I was so pleasantly surprised by this little beach town gem.

We stayed at the charming Hotel Rodney, which was located Second St. - the main drag of Lewes. Can we talk about how cute this street was??

Heather and I were referring to it as "Mayberry" all weekend long.

There was lots and lots of beach time, and a delicious waterfront lunch at The Wharf.

Dinner Friday was at The Pig & the Fish in Rehoboth Beach {Green Curry Thai Mussels - omg.}, followed by lots of boardwalk-ing.

Speaking of eating, that's pretty much all we did. Here are just a few highlights.

King's Ice Cream, Lewes' Bake Shop {and their famous sticky buns} and the phenomenal Agave Tequila Bar. There were so many adorable and delicious local eateries around town - we could have stayed here for a whole week and not eaten at the same place twice!

We ended our trip at the picturesque Cape Henlopen State Park - wild sand dunes and beautiful beaches, not to mention nature/bike trails that we unfortunately didn't get to explore. I would love to go back and spend my days here!

This trip has satisfied a bit of my wanderlust - for now!

    1. we were searching for somewhere within driving distance from DC {that's where my friend lives}. I found our cute hotel online and just made the decision to go there!

  3. "First town in the first state -- and first to bed on Friday night." :) We live there a big chunk of the year and love it -- quiet though it may be. A nice antidote to DC.
