monday musings

Each past decade and its corresponding style has a place in my heart, but the Roaring Twenties have always seemed like the most glamorous, fantastical and stylish of them all. For that reason, I'm so excited for The Great Gatsby to come to life on the big screen later this year. This book is on my re-read list for the summer!

Have you seen the trailer yet? Just magical.

  1. Yes! I too, am excited for the Great Gatsby.

    F. Scott Fitzgerald is on my list of greatest authors, I especially love his short stories. Diamond as Big as the Ritz, is probably my fave. The casting in the new movie is excellent--I'm always a fan of Leonardo Di Caprio, ever since What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

    1. Ohh I would love to read some of his short stories! I've only ever read The Great Gatsby.

And I agree, the casting is sooo good! I love Carey Mulligan as Daisy.

  2. If you like Fitzgerald, you might be interested in reading his book This Side of Paradise. I really liked that one, more than Gatsby. (Though I'm SO excited to see the movie later this year, and I already love the Brooks Brothers suiting and apparel for the male cast.)

Did you see Midnight in Paris? While not the best Woody Allen movie I've ever seen, I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. The scenes and set were gorgeous.

    1. I will have to check out that book. And I agree, the costuming for this movie looks fantastic!

I haven't seen Midnight in Paris, but I've heard good things and I've been meaning to watch for a while now...
