wanderlust wednesday: vancouver, bc

Am I the only dork who fell in love with Vancouver, BC after the 2010 Winter Olympics? There is so much to see, do and eat in this gorgeous city.

Let's start at the Sylvia Hotel: it's not only an historic landmark of Vancouver, but also the only beachfront hotel in the city - sign me up! It's only steps away from the picturesque Stanley Park, which is considered one of the best urban parks in the world and a must-see while in Vancouver. Personally, I would spend an entire day {or more} hiking, biking, kayaking and generally just taking in this beautiful landscape. Lighthouse ParkIndian Arm, the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain are just a few other outdoor landmarks that are on my list.

A trip wouldn't be complete without some local flavor, and Vancouver has plenty. The Granville Island Public Market is a window into the many cultural influences of the region - Pacific Rim and Indo-Canadian, along with local produce and foodie favorites. For a little high-end dining, Vij's {authentic Indian} and Blue Water Cafe {seafood + raw bar!} both look divine, no?

Finally, to keep up with Vancouver's active culture, this week's style pairing is all about comfortable chic.

All ready to pack my bags!

  2. I hear such great things about Vancouver. My boyfriend actually lived there for a summer while he was in college and has nothing but awesome things to say about the city and area. It might be a little cool for me, so I think going in the summer would be my preference. :)
