dip-dyed earring {DIY tutorial}

Does your earring collection look like....this?

Yikes. I couldn't tell you the last time I wore half the things in there...like the feathers? Yeah - those haven't seen the light of day in a while. Anywho, when I saw Jenny's quick and easy earring DIY {check it out here}, I knew I could find a pair or two that could use some upgrading.

Here's what you'll need:

Make sure you protect your working surface with a cloth or paper towel. Carefully paint a thin layer of polish on one side of your earring, making sure to create clean edges.

If you chose earrings {like I did} with angular edges, carefully pick up the earring and paint a coat on the inside and outside rims.

Let the first side dry completely, before flipping over and painting the opposite side.

In the meantime, paint your nails!

I did two coats on my earrings, just to make sure the color was solid all over. If you do this with chain earrings {like Jenny did}, or with another more delicate material, one coat should be plenty!

This easy project would be great to spruce up any metallic earring, or even a simple chain necklace. A brightly dip-dyed necklace for spring? Doing it!

polish: Essie "Over the Edge"
earrings: ancient!
