winter hair solutions

Although I love winter {snow, holidays, cozy layered outfits!}, I loathe winter hair. You know what I'm talking about - wind-whipped, dry, with a major case of static cling. So, by request from a reader {hi Emily!}, here are some of my solutions to preempt those seasonal hairdo disasters.

Tip 1. Condition, condition, condition! Dry hair is the culprit behind most of our winter hair woes.

Tip 2. Braids. The best thing about a braid? The looser, messier, the better! No need to worry about perfection {and no need to fear a little winter wind!} with these styles. Check out Lauren's easy, easy, easy fishtail braid tutorial below.

Tip 3. The updo {see: pony, bun, etc.} is your best friend during those winter months. Just don't forget the hair spray for some extra security!

And when all else fails..

Tip 4. Hit the hats! Hey, it's winter, isn't it?? Relish in an excuse to wear adorable caps!

Try out some of these tips as the temperatures start to fall this weekend. Happy Friday!
